See our programme and event trailer!

At YMCA Basingstoke we are holding a fun filled community day to introduce members of the public to the variety of programmes we offer. Come and join us to try out some of our programmes through a range of workshops and activities and find out more about what we deliver and the FREE YPASS programmes you can attend.

We will be joined by other organisations who offer amazing services throughout the community to share with you more about who they are and what they do. There will be a fair to explore crafts amongst other things, as well as a raffle, tombola, creative workshops, stalls and activities to take part in!

Any money raised will go straight towards our programmes. The event aims to provide an opportunity for our young people to fundraise and serve the YMCA, by delivering an event that engages the wider Basingstoke community and introduces them to our YPASS programmes. Our aspiration for our programmes which we started to launch just before lockdown is that anyone in the community can come and engage for free to learn a new skill, meet new people or just get out and have some fun.

We have a variety of programmes that teach different skills within employment and education, kitchen skills, budgeting, coping strategies for mental health issues, gardening, fun arty activities, health and fitness sessions and so much more!

Want to find out more or even give a few of these sessions a try? Then come and join us at our community day!

-Please note due to Covid-19 we may have to limit entry numbers at any one time to allow for safe social distancing. Booking your ticket before will give you guaranteed entry to the event. We continue to review the situation against government guidance where regular updates will be provided on our Facebook YMCA Basingstoke and our website https://basingstoke.ymca-fg.org/. Hand sanitizer will be available. Please do not attend if you show symptoms of Covid-19.

Resident engagement information

We want as many of you residents getting involved in the event as possible. Whether it be holding a stall, activity or workshop; helping prepare the grounds for the event; making things like soap, chutney, lip scrubs or cakes to sell at the event; helping on the door with tickets or acting as a marshal to help and direct people.

Lots of you have already signed up and have been taking part in our preparation workshops!

Want to get involved but not sure how? Come and talk to a staff member to find out more and explore ideas!

Taking part in the event, prior or on the day means you are actively engaging in our ‘Superheroes’ programme. Superheroes provides an opportunity for you to fundraise and serve the YMCA or the wider community by volunteering or fundraising through a variety of activities to raise money to go towards things you want!

There will also be a resident stall where you can sell the chutney, soaps, lip scrubs, cakes (and any other ideas welcome!) you have been working hard on in preparation workshops. Any money made from this stall will go towards something you want collectively e.g. a pool table!
